School Essentials

We aim to help alleviate the burden unduly placed on our Teachers as they strive to provide the best care for our students possible. As such, when they have children in their classrooms who lack basic essentials, such as backpacks and other supplies, we aim to assist in providing some of these resources. We also aim to provide shared classroom resources that otherwise fall on the teachers to supply such as facial tissues, hand sanitizer, etc.

Winter Attire

Every year, The Backpack Bridge holds a coat drive within our community and distributes the items that come in before the cold weather sets in for the year. We specifically target items for our local youth but we do not turn down adult sized jackets. We also specifically aim to collect coats and jackets but we won't turn away hats, scarves, gloves, boots, and shoes (drop box is located at 1140 Airbase Road, please only leave the specific items requested).

Then, we hold the distribution in as public and advertised a setting as we can manage and give away as many coats, jackets etc. as we can!

We gladly accept new and gently used items anytime during the year with a specific drive taking place around September of each year. We can also give away coats and jackets at times other than during our coat drive, by appointment only.

Teacher Services

We make every attempt to accomodate as many requests from our teachers and educators as possible! If you work within one of our local schools and need assistance for:
  1. One of your students
  2. A special project
  3. Classroom supplies
  4. Coats/Jackets/Gloves/Hats
Please let us know!

(We'll never share your email with anyone else.)

Club Youth!

We are open now!!!

Club Youth! is a Positive Youth Development Center for youth grades 5 through 12, that provides not only a safe place to hang out after school, but also an outstanding environment to develop skills, talents, and leadership within. We focus on the 5 C’s model of positive youth development (PYD): Competence, Confidence, Connection, Caring/Compassion, and Character. In the future, Club Youth plans to add in the 6th C, Contribution, through their Bridge Builders program.

We are working with local businesses, counselors, churches, government agencies, recovery programs, and more, in order to build the best programs to offer to Elmore County youth in the furtherance of combating mental health issues and substance use/abuse all while helping to develop good citizenry and future leaders.

We have many activities for youth such as pool tables, ping pong, arcades, StepManiaX (like Dance Dance Revolution but newer), foosball, and soon, a shuffleboard table. We also have snacks, board games, and a place to just hang out! Coming later this fall, we will begin offering optional classes for teens on a variety of topics from art lessons to music lessons to cooking class, a leadership council, vape, drug, and alcohol cessation (how to quit) and more!

If you have any questions or would like to see how you can volunteer or how your organization can help sponsor Club Youth! please reach out to us on the Contact Us page! We hope to see you there!!!

Ministerial Services

If you don't have a home church of your own and are in need of a Minister to speak with, let us know! We may just have one available for you.

Celebrate Recovery

There are many recovery programs that exist to help people get clean from substance and addiction abuse. And we support these programs and many of them can be found being ran in our facilities. Celebrate Recovery differentiates itself in a few distinct ways. The first and foremost is that we define conclusively who our higher power is (Jesus Christ). The second is that although some groups target specific addiction issues, Celebrate Recovery is more of a "mixed bag." This program is for all of life's hurts, hang ups, and habits.

The program structure differs slightly as well. CR will open with a large group meeting that has singing, a few readings, monthly coin ceremonies, and a recovery based message. Then the large group breaks out into smaller groups which are separated by gender (men with the men and women with the women).

Come join in the recovery fun Thursday nights!!

Dinner: 6:00pm
Large Group: 6:30pm
Small Groups: 7:30pm (approximately)
Dessert: 8:30pm (approximately)

Club Clarity

Sometimes, when you are working to get clean, you need some pro-social activity but that isn't always easy to find. At Club Clarity, we strive to offer a clean and safe environment for socializing and recreating.

Currently, we have snacks and beverages, Corn Hole, Pool Tables, Air Hockey, Darts, Arcade Games, Hook 21, Ping Pong, card and board games, music, and more. We also have plans to bring in even more activities in the near future.

We open at 6pm on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Check it out on our Calendar under the About Us tab.

Step Up: Financial Fundamentals

Unlike some popular finance courses available today, Step Up isn't designed for middle class people who spend too much. Instead, it was designed specifically for those with a limited income or are starting over.

Some topics covered include:
  • What is money
  • What is a checking account
  • How to write a check and balance the books
  • Budgeting
  • Insurance
  • Debt and how to get rid of it
  • Buying a car
  • Alternative education options
  • And more...

Limited Life Coaching

Sometimes, when life's hopes and dreams haven't played out the way we wanted them to, we need to start over with fresh dreams. Life Coaching is designed to help the coachee find those new directions they may want to try out. We offer these services on a limited basis as availability is very limited. Preference is given to those post-incarceration or starting their lives over again.

Backpacks

Starting over with nothing is never anyone's first choice for life. Though we can't provide you with everything you need, we can help with a few basics such as a backpack with hygiene items and a towel.
